The best yoga poses for beginners

13. June 2018

Let’s start Yoga now!

Start simple. Important is to integrate Yoga into your daily life. This should be as easy as possible. Do not take too much at the beginning.

In the beginning it’s all about getting to know your body and moving and feeling your body in a very healthy and delicate way, not more. Your body will be super happy about the regular Yoga sequences!

My tip: start with a simple yoga sequence each morning, set your alarm 15min earlier, roll out of your bed, jump on your mat, wear comfy pants and here you go.

Start with these 5 Yoga poses each morning:

How I discovered yoga

13. June 2018

I remember my very first Yoga lesson. It was during my studies in Berlin. Long time ago, I was 21.

There was a free yoga class in a public building and I just took the chance to drop in. Lots of people were sitting on their mats, quiet, with their eyes closed. Looked weird to me at this time.

The class began with mantra singing and pranayama (breathing exercises). I felt ashamed, unwell, uneasy and couldn’t understand that all the people around me seemed to enjoy this. It was difficult for me to keep my eyes closed. There was an inner impulse to open my eyes to see what’s around me, checking the setting, controlling the situation.

I remember that I tried to follow the voice of the yoga teacher and continued to breathe deeply, then quickly, then holding my breath. I just tried to do everything what the others did. All of a sudden, I was super dizzy. I had to leave – the breathing, the class, the room, the situation, the yoga experience.

My thought was: Yoga isn’t anything for me.

But I had no idea…

A few years later I tried again and made a life changing yoga experience with one of the most inspiring yoga teachers I ever had. She had it all – her way of teaching, her voice, her mindfulness, her kind of alignment, her grace.

She caught me truly and I fell in love with Yoga.

My thoughts:

| Be open to what Yoga brings to you
| It’s a gift to be able to practice Yoga
| Listen to your soul and take your time to find your Yoga teacher

The world of yoga is huge and myyogaflows.com is showing my little yoga world.

I am super happy to start this BLOG! Here I can write about my yoga experiences, about my passion for yoga and I can share my personal thoughts. Writing is something that I started as a young girl and I have kept in my whole life. Never for sharing, always for myself. Little notebooks have been my companions. I write to reflect, to remember, to deal with feelings, to sort my thoughts, to find answers or just because to get something off my chest. Let’s see how it will be with the blog…

Besides the blog you find the FEEL-GOOD-FLOWS, I created several sequences of yoga postures for special needs. You can choose flows for the body or for the soul. Body flows have amongst others sequences to get rid of headache, shoulder tension or lower back pain. Soul flows have sequences to sleep well, light up your mood or increase your inner calmness. These sequences are all based on basic postures. They are optimal for a simple and healthy daily yoga practice.

During my years on the mat I discovered a lot of yoga-related products. My students often asked me which mat or yoga pants I like the most. So I thought it might be a good idea to share my FAVORITES here.

I love being inspired by all the lovely yoga people out there. It is such a wonderful community and a pleasure to share my yoga way with others. In case you also like to be inspired by yoga postures or quotes have a look at INSPIRATION!
